for Porsche Carrera Cup GB The Porsche Carrera Cup GB will enjoy an even better television package in 2009, with extended programmes in the 'Motorsport UK' series on both ITV1 and ITV4. In addition, selected Carrera Cup GB races will feature during the live coverage of the BTCC race days on ITV4.'Motorsport UK' has been extended from half-hour programmes to a run of 35 hour-long programmes, and will benefit from prime slots on ITV4 and a late night screening on ITV1. In addition, Motorsport UK is also screened on the Men and Motors channel on Friday evening.The TV package for the Carrera Cup works hand-in-hand with the excellent TV arrangements for the BTCC, which will feature extensive coverage on ITV4 during a live programme on each of the season's ten race days. Whilst this coverage will obviously focus on the BTCC races, some of the support race action, including the Carrera Cup GB, will again feature within this major broadcast, which has been extended to run for six hours on each race day.Viewing figures for 2008 from Motorsport UK, the series that covers all the BTCC support races, show a typical programme audience of 550,000. The audience for the live BTCC programmes on ITV4 was as high as one million viewers in 2008."This is our best TV package so far and gives our teams and drivers superb exposure for their sponsors," said championship manager Marion Barnaby. "The Porsche Carrera Cup GB will have a fine entry in 2009 and there should be plenty of great racing for the TV cameras as well as the fans at the circuits."Exact transmission dates and times, along with the schedule of which races will be covered in each programme, will be announced in due course.
