Diffuser Protest becomes official

An FIA statement last night confirmed that Ferrari, Renault and Red Bull Racing have lodged formal complaints with race stewards over the design of the diffusers on the 2009  Brawn GP, Toyota and Williams cars.

The stewards are due to consider the protest later today and the matter is expected to be refered to the Court of Appeal with the Brawn, Toyota and Williams cars racing under appeal.

FIA President Max Mosley has already revealed that the appeal would not be able to be heard until after next Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix.
