XPart supports new MGTF ..

in MG Trophy Championship

MG Rover parts distribution specialist XPart is supporting an MGTF LE 500 driven by one of its AutoService centre technicians in the MG Trophy Championship

XPart is supporting one of the first MG TF LE 500s to be raced since the launch of the redesigned MG sports car in this season’s MG Trophy Championship. The car has been prepared for racing by one of XPart’s approved MG Rover specialists and MG Motor authorised repairer, Dreadnought Garage, Callander, and will be raced by Dreadnought technician and racing driver Paul Luti. XPart will provide the team with replacement body parts for the new MG car as it does battle in the 12-round championship, taking on rivals such as its earlier MG TF counterpart and the front-wheel drive MG ZR.

“We’re delighted to be sponsoring one of our own MG Rover specialist technicians in what looks set to be an exciting season’s racing,” comments Don Lindsay, service marketing manager, XPart. “It will be wonderful to see a new MG car competing in a race series again and driver Paul Luti’s strong experience of servicing and racing MG cars should stand him in good stead as he prepares to race in the popular MG championship.”

26-year-old Paul Luti came third in the 2008 MG Trophy Championship and has previously raced a unique MGZT 520, also prepared for racing by Dreadnought Garage, his family business. The Luti family has over 18 years’ experience servicing MG Rover and TVR cars, and has been an XPart AutoService centre since 2006. With a passion for sports cars and motorsport, the family is gearing up to support Paul in his quest for this year’s title and will be on hand to offer their extensive technical expertise.

“I’m looking forward to being one of the first drivers to race the MG TF LE500,” explains driver Paul Luti. “The MG Trophy Championship is always a closely fought race and provides a great opportunity for some high quality, close racing, without the contact often seen in other one-make race series. We are currently testing the car and making our final preparations for the first race of the season at Donington Park.”

The MG Trophy Championship is one of seven race championships run by the MG Car Club. The first round will begin on 4th April at Donington Park.
