SEAT WTCC tests at Magny Cours

Tiago Monteiro called up for two-day test

Last week Tiago Monteiro spent two days on the French track of Magny Cours where he underwent a private testing session with SEAT Sport, who currently lead the FIA WTCC. The purpose of the test was to work on new solutions in regard to the shocks and suspension combined with geometry work on the SEAT Leon TDI. Tiago Monteiro summarized the test and justified the choice of the French circuit. "We opted for Magny Cours because it has a lot of turns and chicanes where the kerbs are high because our work was about finding the best set-up in these conditions in order to optimize the SEAT León TDI's behaviour. We entered the curves very aggressively to make the car react while trying to keep the ideal line. There are just a few parameters to optimize on this car which is more or less at the end of its development. We are all very motivated for the next WTCC races. The fact they will be run on a track nobody knows, or at least the vast majority of the drivers, is very attractive."The 5th and 6th races of the championship will be run in the streets of Marrakech, Morocco, May 1-3. The WTCC is the only championship to go to Africa and it will be the first FIA event in the North of the continent since 1958.
