Indianapolis 500 remains affordable ..

FIRST-CLASS EVENT

$20 ticket remains best value in major league sports

As sporting venues around the United States slash ticket prices to attract fans in this struggling economy, the Indianapolis 500 still remains the most affordable premier sporting event in the U.S. - without reducing ticket prices! A general admission ticket onto the grounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing" is still the best value in sports.

For just $20, a fan can purchase a general admission ticket to the expansive infield of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to watch the Indianapolis 500.Combined with the fact that IMS food concession prices are among the lowes tin major league sports, the entire day becomes very affordable for a "500"fan.

Meeting cooler size and normal restrictions on glass bottles, fans can also carry in food and drink for all three major events at IMS - the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday, May 24, Allstate 400 at the Brickyard on Sunday, July 26 and Red Bull Indianapolis GP on Sunday, Aug. 30.

"Under the stewardship of the Hulman-George family, there always has been a 'fans first' philosophy at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway," said IMS President and Chief Operating Officer Joie Chitwood. "It's not something we need to talk about much internally; you just pick up on it when you work here. What major sporting event in the U.S. lets fans through the gates for $20 and bring in their own food? That's always been important to the family."

Fans who desire a reserved seat for the Indianapolis 500 enjoy incredible value, too. Reserved seats begin at $40 and top out at $150. "If a fan can afford a little pricier option, we still offer the most affordable reserved seats in motorsports," Chitwood said.
