Patrón Highcroft Racing, star driver David Brabham and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair all joined forces in Los Angeles  in the fight to end malaria deaths.The team's Acura ARX-02a racecar, one of its drivers and the former British leader all attended a BritWeek LA fundraiser to benefit Malaria No More - the organization founded in 2006 to combat malaria deaths through breakthrough communications, global advocacy and strategic investments in Africa.Tony Blair was the guest of honor and spoke at the event that raised an estimated $1million on the night.  Brabham, the British-born Australian who now lives in the UK met the former British leader prior to the gala event at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.A key event of BritWeek 2009, the 500 guests had the opportunity to see the state-of-the-art Patrón Highcroft Acura on the forecourt of the Beverly Wilshire. The Danbury, CT-based squad has joined forces with Malaria No More to save lives from malaria, the preventable disease that kills a child in Africa every 30 seconds.For every mile the team races in the 2009 American Le Mans Series season, the team and its sponsor Tequila Patrón will donate $10 to fund mosquito nets for African families.With an expected total of 4,500 miles for the season, race fans can also join the race by contributing as little as one penny per mile at http://www.milestoendmalaria.orgA simple $10 mosquito net can protect two children or a mother and baby, reducing the spread of the disease, saving lives and keeping families intact. Brabham and teammate Scott Sharp's efforts in the season's opening rounds - including Patrón Highcroft and Acura's first LMP1 victory at St Petersburg and second at Long Beach - have already clocked up $14,911.01 for the cause."It was great to be invited along to BritWeek and the Malaria No More gala fundraiser where I had the opportunity to meet Tony Blair," Brabham said."He gave a really inspiring speech about the global issues that we are facing and the massive problem of malaria.
