Rockingham wins last minute Britcar

THE world’s most iconic supercars are heading to Rockingham for a feast of GT racing after Donington circuit failed to secure a licence for its track.

The Britcar series makes its debut at Rockingham on May 2/3 for a weekend of endurance racing from Aston Martin to the Ferrari 360, the Lotus Elise to Porsche 997 GT3.

The two-day event guarantees wheel-to-wheel action from packed supercar grids of more than 30 cars. Featuring on the timetable are the Britcar GT & Production Championships plus support races from the Dutch Supercar Challenge and Dunlop TVR and Porsche 924.

Rockingham Director Charlotte Orton, said: “We are delighted to be hosting the Britcar race meeting at Rockingham for the first time. With such large grids, this event is guaranteed to provide non-stop action.”

In line with other club meetings at Rockingham, if spectators book in advance they can save up to 20 per cent. Tickets can be booked in advance at rockingham.co.uk/events or if you’re not online, you can call the ticket hotline on 01536 500500.

Advance prices are £18 for the weekend, £12 for Sunday or £8 for Saturday – a saving of up to £6 on Donington’s adult admission prices for the same event. Children aged 15 or under get in free.

Adult tickets will be available on the gate and will cost £15 on Sunday, £20 for the weekend and £10 on Saturday. Fans will have the opportunity to get close to the action as general admission includes access to an open paddock and a grandstand seat.
