Lola launch 2012 LMP2 cost capped coupe

Lola has introduced for 2012 their cost capped LMP2 Coupe - the Lola B12/80. An exciting addition to the current range of Lola sports prototype racing cars to race in the FIA World Endurance Championship, the American Le Mans Series,Le Mans Series and the Le Mans 24 Hours

In true Lola fashion, we are the first constructor to introduce a true cost capped Coupe which utilises the proven Lola endurance sports car product while ensuring maximum driver appeal.

Executive Chairman of Lola Group, Martin Birrane said: "Prototype racing has been at its most successful when there has been a period of rule stability. It is very reassuring that the regulations are now intended to remain stable for a minimum period of 5 years in LMP2."

Also commenting on the announcement of Lola being once again the first customer constructor to offer a cost-capped LMP2 Coupe, Managing Director of Lola Cars International Ltd, Robin Brundle said: "This is a significant announcement showcasing Lola's commitment for the future in this category. Our engineers are hard at work finalising the aerodynamics package for the B12/80. We invite all interested parties to consider what will be the most competitive, most reliable and most cost-effective racing package in global endurance racing next year."

New Lola B12/60 customers are offered programmes in the highly renowned Lola technical centre, all within the purchase price. These include full aero maps, trackside spares supply in the LMS and Le Mans 24 Hours and free 7-post test rig time.

The record of Lola's current generation of sports cars - including three LMP2 class wins, 25 podium positions at the Le Mans 24 Hours and two Le Mans Series Constructors titles - highlight skills and experience to create the very best package for prototype sports car racing. Results in LMP1 and LMP2 on both sides of the Atlantic have confirmed Lola as one of the fastest and most reliable customer chassis for each series.
