Chris Dyer will join the 2011 Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Rockingham Motor Speedway (17/18 September) as his prize for winning the 2010 Porsche Club Championship.The Yorkshireman has spent five seasons racing with the Porsche Club and won the 2010 title after an exemplary season in class two Porsche 944 S2. This year, he is chasing the title once more and currently lies second overall to Mark Sumpter before the deciding triple-header round at Silverstone on September 30/October 1.“It’s going to be a big learning curve and it’s certainly a case of in at the deep end,” said Dyer. “I’ve driven a GT3 on the road, but I’ve never raced one. It’s a big step up from my 944 S2,” added Dyer, who will join Parr Motorsport for his prize drive weekend.“I’m definitely looking forward to it and at least I don’t have to learn the circuit,” said Dyer, who made his Rockingham debut earlier in the summer during his Porsche Club Championship campaign.
