Atech Reid GP are pleased to announce the signing of Australian driver Geoff Uhrhane. The 20 year old will be competing with the Welsh based team at this weekend’s round 9 of the CERTINA Formula Renault 2.0 UK Championship at Brands Hatch.

After an encouraging test with the team at Pembrey circuit earlier this month Geoff will use the Brands Hatch event to further familiarise himself with the car in light to compete the forthcoming Formula Renault 2.0 UK Finals as well as the full championship season with the team in 2012.

“The team were pleased with the progress Geoff made over the test day at Pembrey.” Anthony Reid stated. “He will be a promising edition to the team.”

David Hayle added, “It will be a really interesting test to see just where Geoff stands against seasoned Formula Renault 2.0 drivers. I am sure he will surprise a few people!” David added.

Geoff moved to the UK earlier this year to further his career in motorsport and has been competing in the British Formula Ford Championship. The youngster has claimed 2 race wins, 11 podiums and 5 pole-positions this season and currently sits 6th in the Formula Ford championship standings.

“I am really looking forward to driving this weekend.” Geoff stated. “It was nice to jump into a car with so much grip after driving the Formula Ford all year!”
