Rockingham to choose the name for the next Eddie Stobart truck

HOW would you like to choose a name for the next Eddie Stobart lorry? Rockingham has teamed up with the world famous haulage company to offer one lucky person the opportunity to do just that!

This is a prestigious honour for the Northamptonshire circuit as there is a two-year waiting list to name one of the iconic trucks, which is usually only offered to members of the official Eddie Stobart fan club.

You can register your suggestions at rockingham.co.uk/stobart and a short-list of the best names will be published on the circuit’s website for visitors to pick their favourite. The winner will be the one which receives the most votes.

Rockingham has been given the honour to choose the name for one of Eddie Stobart’s trucks following the success of the first Stobart Fest, which was held in September alongside the circuit’s 10th anniversary celebrations.

More than 6,000 fans attended the event from as far afield as the United States, to have their photograph taken with the latest additions to the fleet, as well as meet some of the Eddie Stobart drivers.

The event will also feature on the next series of the popular Channel 5 series Eddie Stobart: Trucks & Trailers, the fly-on-the-wall documentary following the haulage company, which returns for a new series in January.

Chief Executive of Rockingham, Charlotte Orton, said: “This is a great privilege to be given the chance to name an Eddie Stobart lorry and as part of our 10th anniversary celebrations we wanted to open this up to our followers.

“We would like someone to come up with a suitable name for the truck – possible something connected to Rockingham or our business. The only criteria, is it must be a female name.

“Stobart Fest proved a huge success and was a great opportunity to welcome a whole new audience to Rockingham and showcase the circuit’s fantastic facilities.”

Closing date for entries to be submitted to the website is Friday, December 9.
