Team Ombra Racing will be among the top contenders in this season's fascinating INTERNATIONAL GTSPRINT SERIES races. The Bergamo-based squad has an outstanding open-wheel past - including winning the AutoGP championship last season - and has now decided to join GTSPRINT for their maiden Grand Touring run.

The challenge is set as Team Ombra announced they will line-up in the GTS3 class by fielding a Ferrari 458 Italia from the first race of the calendar, starting at Monza on April the 1st.

"It will be our closed-wheel debut - explained Ombra's Team Manager Davide Mazzoleni - a tough job expects us but we're ready to work extremely hard in order to get great results straight out of the box. We decided to line-up in GTSPRINT because it is a true benchmark in Grand Touring competition thanks to both an high-quality promotion and media coverage. The 2012 schedule will bring us on some really important racetracks in Italy and abroad, and we decided to join forces with Ferrari because they are on top in GT3".
