High mileages for the Auto GP teams in Valencia

Sunday was the last day of the three-day private test that four Auto GP teams arranged in Valencia. After that the second day of running was ruined by the rain, the teams found themselves with a track that was considerably slower than on Friday, and also had to face a strong cross-wind that proved to be quite disturbing for the drivers. Despite not being able to improve their laptimes, the four outfits made the most of the sessions to work on the car set-up and to give more track time to their rookies.

Campos Racing, the home team, replicated Friday’s programme, with Facundo Regalia focusing on car set-up and Giuseppe Cipriani getting more track time, finishing with more than 200 kms under his belt. At the end of the day, the team was very happy with the Italian’s performance, as Giuseppe ended just 1” shy of his younger team-mate.

High mileage also for Ombra Racing: Giancarlo Serenelli and Vittorio Ghirelli managed to complete the team’s work schedule, completing 65 laps each for a total of 500 kms.

Despite running with just one car, MLR71 worked hard and managed to keep-up with the competition in terms of covered distance: with both Sergio Campana and Michele La Rosa driving, the MLR Lola was on track for around 100 laps.

MP Motorsport, with Daniel de Jong at the wheel, added another 70 laps to the 250 kms from Friday. After focusing on different set-up solutions with lots of brief stints and quick “out-in” on the first day, on Sunday the Dutch squad opted for some outings on new rubber and also completed some long runs.
