MAGNUS Karlsson’s Testimonial meeting is set to be a family affair with his racing brothers Peter and Mikael (Max) also competing.Leicester star Karlsson, the youngest of the trio, is to stage a Four-Team Tournament as the club’s season-opener on March 17 with his brothers racing at Beaumont Park for the first time.Peter Karlsson said: “I think we all rode together at one stage, maybe in Sweden, but I am not too sure where and when.“I don’t think it’s been particularly hard for Magnus to follow us, he is quite a bit younger than Mikael and I, so I think he’s kind of done his own thing. I think he’s done pretty well for himself.”

GERMAN showman Martin Smolinski is desperate to win the last-ever Telford ice crown on Sunday, February 26.Smolinski, who has recently agreed an Elite League return with Birmingham, took the Telford honours in 2008 but had to settle for second place behind Tony Atkin last year.He said: “I’m desperate to win it, I really am. It’s made even more important by the fact that this is the last staging of the event and it would mean everything to me to be the last winner.“Last year I dropped just the one point and feel I was unlucky not to win it so when Graham Drury called me and invited me back for this year I was very happy to say yes.”
