Canadian Mosport venue renamed

Mosport, the circuit that hosted the Canadian Grand Prix until 1977, has announced a naming rights deal which will see the facility renamed Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

“As Canada’s largest automotive retailer, Canadian Tire has a long tradition of supporting auto racing and motorsports in Canada,” said Allan MacDonald, senior vice president, automotive, for Canadian Tire.

“Canadian Tire is excited to give back to the racing community by working with Mosport International Raceway to improve this racing landmark in Canada and create an enhanced experience for both drivers and fans.”

The circuit will host a round of the American Le Mans Series as well as two races in the Nascar Canadian Tire Series this year. Canadian Tire's investment in the circuit will assist with upgrade work designed to improve the experiences of spectators, race teams and corporate partners.
