REVISED dates have been confirmed for two of this season’s SpeedwayGB Events series.The British Final at Wolverhampton will take place on Monday July 30, with the Elite League Riders’ Championship at Swindon now on Saturday October 20.Series co-ordinator David Hoggart said: “We needed to provide adequate provision for possible rain-offs and also be aware of the play-offs towards the end of the season which are naturally very important to the riders and clubs.“We apologise to supporters for any inconvenience but hopefully these dates are being issued in good time, and they have been set in everyone’s best interests.”

MAGNUS Karlsson’s Testimonial at Leicester on March 17 has attracted two further Elite League riders who will make their debuts at Beaumont Park.Karlsson has secured the services of Danish star Bjarne Pedersen, who will be a team-mate as Karlsson doubles-up with Birmingham this year, and also Lakeside skipper Lee Richardson.Pedersen said: “Speedway’s one big family these days and although I have never actually ridden in the same team as Magnus, of course I meet him all the time in the airports.“I have never ridden at Leicester, it’s always good to come to a new track. Even after riding speedway for more than 20 years I still get excited about that.”

BUXTON No.1 Robert Branford is to return to spearhead the Hitmen’s 2012 National League challenge.Branford will go into his third season at the Hi-Edge Raceway whilst also racing at Premier League level for Redcar – and Buxton chief Jayne Moss expects him to form a strong top-order combination with new signing Tim Webster.Branford said: “I’m looking forward to the season ahead, and I am the most pumped I think I’ve ever been.“I’m very happy to be doing another season at Buxton, the place is like home to me now and I really want to help get the team back on top like the 2010 season. I would like to stay at No.1 all year.”
