Motors TV’s burgeoning 2012 schedule will include the return of live NASCAR Nationwide Series coverage this year, the High Speed Television Channel can confirm today. The three-wide fender-to-fender pack racing that has proven so popular in North America over the past three decades will be given comprehensive air time in the UK this year with all 33 rounds screened live or delayed-as-live on Motors TV.Viewers will be able to keep tabs on high-profile open-wheel convert Danica Patrick’s full-time foray into stock car racing alongside former three-time IndyCar champion and Indy 500 winner Sam Hornish Jr. A whole host of Sprint Cup stars will also be ‘pulling double duty’ in 2012 including Busch brothers Kurt and Kyle, Kevin Harvick and reigning champ Tony Stewart, who’s joined by former F1 racers Nelson Piquet Jr and Scott Speed, as well as Supercross-come-stunt icon Travis Pastrana.    Depending on local scheduling, each race will be shown live or delayed-as-live on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings with comprehensive highlight programmes broadcast throughout the following week. The announcement follows Motors TV recently becoming the home of live GRAND-AM in the UK which, along with American Le Mans Series, Lucas Oil Off Road Racing, Formula Drift and AMA Supercross coverage, provides further evidence of the channel’s dedication to offering the most eclectic range of motorsport from across the Atlantic.Motors TV Head of Programming and Acquisitions Frédéric Viger: “This latest announcement is fantastic news for both Motors TV and our loyal viewers, many of whom have expressed a renewed interest in stock car racing some five years after we last broadcast the NASCAR Nationwide Series. With so many established names committing to the 2012 championship it seemed like the perfect time to renew our coverage. That, coupled with live primetime weekend programming, gives me every reason to believe that the NASCAR Nationwide Series will quickly establish itself as a firm favourite amongst our viewers.”The opening round of the 2012 NASCAR Nationwide Series will be screened live from Daytona this Saturday (February 25) at 5pm
