GT Sport Winter Series at Paul Ricard

24 cars to attend first-ever Winter Series event at Paul RicardFerrari, Porsche, Lambo, Chevrolet and Maserati represented

With the hardest part of the winter now behind us, it’s time to restart the engines and takethe track to prepare the forthcoming 2012 season. GT Sport is innovating this year, with theorganization of a Winter Series event at the Paul Ricard HTTT for GT and F3 cars this comingFriday and Saturday 2-3 March.

The event is aimed mostly at giving the opportunity to teams and drivers to perform testingand preparation work ahead of the season, but will also include two non-championship races, which will be useful to retake the stamina of competition! A total of 4.25 hours of free testingare foreseen, with 45’ of qualifying and two races of 50’ on Saturday.

The Paul Ricard Winter Series is, of course, open to all GT cars, indipendently from theirparticipation to the International GT Open which will start end of April in the Algarve (andwill visit the Paul Ricard later in July) and no less than 24 cars will be present, mainly fromthe GTS (GT3) category.

AF Corse and Kessel Racing will be present en force, with five Ferraris each, with other topteams, such as JMB Racing, Vita4One Italy, Black Bull Swiss Racing, Swiss Team and ReiterEngineering also present. This last outfit will bring a new Chevrolet Camaro along itstraditional Lamborghini Gallardo. Team Deboeuf will lead the Porsche delegation, whileMaserati will be represented both in the GTS and GT Light categories (in the latter with itsnew Trophy machine).

“We are very happy with the response received”, says Jesús Pareja, CEO of GT Sport, “andanxious to be at the track again. The Paul Ricard is the ideal place to do a Winter Seriesevent and we look forward to what will be the first event of this kind for us.”

The winter programme of GT Sport, initiated at the Algarve some weeks ago, will concludewith a two-day testing session at Barcelona on 15-16 March.
