Round 2: Brick & Steel Border Counties Rally, 17 March

Reigning champions David Bogie and Kevin Rae were in imperious form on Saturday's 40th Brick & Steel Border Counties rally, taking their second win of the 2012 championship.

Bogie and Rae blasted through the five forest stages in their Mitsubishi EVO 9 a full one minute and fifty seconds quicker than runners-up Mike Faulkner and Peter Foy. "I couldn't have asked for a better result – it all went so smoothly,” said Bogie. "It's also been great weather and the crowds have been out in force on the stages, which were excellent."

Northern Ireland's Jonny Greer secured third overall a further nine seconds back but was not registered for championship points, so Barry Groundwater secured the final SRC podium spot in his EVO 9.
