After a three week break in the events schedule, RideoffroadUK resume normal service on March 25th with round four of the 2012 Championship at the Carlton Grange Plantation near Helmsley in North Yorkshire. The venue boasts all weather, hard standing parking (should it be needed) and a closed course enduro XC lap of around 12 minutes for most riders. Taking on board suggestions from club members, Wayne Braybrook and his trusted ground working crew are making the course wider and simpler to add more emphasis to the racing aspect of the event. Two new woodland loops will be added to the first visit of 2012, in addition to these new loops we will be for the first time using quite a lot of the fire roads which run through the woodland giving riders a chance to open up and sit back for a short sharp blast linking up to the other sections.
The weekend starts on Saturday with a Wayne Braybrook Structured Enduro Training School aimed at Novice/Sportsman grade riders. These have proved very popular over the last two years, due in part to the fact that we set the maximum rider attendance at 10.
Sunday sees the usual three race format, Sunday morning is the turn of the Youth riders for 90 minutes, followed by the Sportsman, Beginner, Ladies and Over50's for a 2 hour event. After a short break for morning event results and presentation the quicker Expert, Over40 and Clubman will be on track for a 2.5 hour epic.
