Liuzzi hits the track with his Mercedes C63 AMG at Magione

to prepare for INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTARS SERIES 2012 opener at Monza

THE FORMER F.1 RACER LOGGED 50 LAPS WITH THE GERMAN RACECAR PREPARED BY CAAL RACING. A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE LED TO LARGELY POSITIVE COMMENTS AT THE END OF THE DAY

Vitantonio Liuzzi put his helmet back on today for a full day of testing at Magione after having entered the official SUPERSTARS session last week at Monza. He was back aboard the Mercedes C63 AMG he will race this season, which was carrying all the latest upgrades. The Pescara-based racer logged some extremely fast laptimes  as he proved to be in perfect shape.

The German racecar, prepared by the CAAL Racing stable, displayed great speed and an even faster pace than in 2011. Liuzzi has been highly impressed by his Mercedes: despite its production-based nature, the C63 AMG has proved incredibly fast and competitive under any aspect, from power to balance and traction.

The main goal of the test was achieved and the good vibes between the Formula 1 ace and the Stuttgart V8 racer has become evident. The results achieved in testing has given Corrado Canneori and his squad high hopes for the 2012 opener, set for April the 1st at Monza.

Liuzzi will be crossing swords with champions like Thomas Biagi, Christian Fittipaldi, Gianni Morbidelli, Mika Salo and many more. All of them are ready for some great side-by-side action that will definitely ignite the spirits of the fans on the grandstands (25.000 of them showed up last year).

"It's been a really good day - told Liuzzi - The car responded great in both the fast sections as well as in the slowest corners thanks to its great balance. I'm quite confident about the start of the season although we still have some work to do in terms of reliability. Our goal for Monza is to take pole and victory."
