The Grand Prix de Pau Historique; the 'not to be missed' classic car lover appointment will take place on 5 and 6 May in the Béarn city. During the whole week‐end, some 200 racing cars, split into 6 grids will be on the track and the Palais Beaumont Gardens will welcome over 800 Club cars. A great many activities will also be organised in the Parc fermé and the town.
The Trophée Légende will boast an extremely rare pre-war grid and fierce duels between Bugatti 51 and BMW 328 models are already announced. Without forgetting the splendid Talbot T26 SS and the discipline 's one and only Frenchie, the Peugeot 402 Darl'Mmat.
The Sixties' Endurance competitors, impatient to be back on the track also have a promising starting grid. Once again impressive models will be participating: a Lister Knobbly or again an Osca of 1957. They will do their best against the powerful AC Cobras and Ferrari 250 GT Berlinettas, this discipline 's given favourites. The Alfa Romeo 1600 GTAs, will have to give all they have to reach the front positions.
The new by Peter Auto grid, Flat 4, will make its debut at the Grand Prix de Pau Historique. A much awaited race by classic Porsche enthusiasts. For its first appearance, the grid will gather many 356s including the pre‐A models which should be victorious.
After its success in 2011, the spruce Trophée Mini Classic will be back again this year. This exciting race is very popular with the Pau public.
On the single‐seater side, the Trophée Formula Ford and the Trophée Junior will rewrite the greatest hours of the Grand Prix de Pau with models which contributed to the town 's history.
The spectators will be at the heart of the event with a great many dedicated activities. A new footbridge has been built opposite the Beaumont hotel to allow the public to reach the Parc Fermé and the Parc Beaumont where the Clubs will put on their ephemeral display. An FFVE Concours d'Elégance will be held among this exceptional gathering on Saturday afternoon.
In the paddock, the Grand Prix village will welcome many Automobilia exhibitors. Sunday 6 May from 10 to 12 am and 2 to 5 pm, the Motors Mania stand will propose an autograph session with Christian Papazoglaskis. The windows of the Pau shops are already decorated in the colours of the event and look forward to welcoming visitors from all over Europe.
The Grand Prix de Pau Historique will mark the beginning of the two week automobile festivities and will be followed on 10, 11 and 12 May by the modern Grand Prix de Pau.
