Duarte Félix da Costa debuts on LMP2 ALMS at Laguna Seca

Duarte Félix da Costa will drive this weekend the 3rd round of the ALMS - American Le Mans Series 2012, one of the most prestigious championships worldwide. The race of 6 hours will take place at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, state of California (USA).

The Portuguese driver was invited by Project Libra Team, that enters a LMP2 Radical SR10, which will make the debut of the new Ford ECO-Tech V6 Twin Turbo Engine, developed by Roush Yates, the well-known North American engine specialists: “I would like to thank Project Libra team and their partners for this opportunity and for trusting me for the debut of this new ambitious project. To race in United States is a dream for many drivers and for now is only the Laguna Seca race. My job is to do a professional job and get a good result for the team”, said the 26 year old driver, that will make his debut in the ALMS and will have Rusty Mitchell and Andrew Prenderville as team mates.

Duarte Félix da Costa will have Thursday and Friday free practice and qualifying and Sunday the 6 hour race: “It will be a new experience for me. The car has incredible performance, the circuit is new for me and the spirit of the races in USA is totally different from Europe but I am confident and motivated to do a good job getting used to the whole thing quick”, ended up, the GT and Touring Car experience driver. 

The entry list counts with 36 cars on the grid divided by LMP1, LMP2, GT, PC and GTC.
