The countdown starts for Superstars round 3 at Donington

BRITISH DONINGTON PARK CIRCUIT SET TO WELCOME 20 SUPERSTARS CARS- JOHNNY HERBERT LINES-UP WITH THE SWISS TEAM MASERATI

With just seven days to go before the third round of 2012, the INTERNATIONAL SUPERSTARS SERIES is ready to be back on-track at the historical venue of Donington Park, UK. Twenty cars will be lined-up and the assault will be led by Johnny Herbert. The British ace, who made his SUPERSTARS debut back in 2010, will be behind the wheel of the 2011 championship winning Maserati Quattroporte, prepared by Swiss Team. In addition to Herbert and his team-mate Mauro Cesari, CAAL Racing will field their two powerful Mercedes C63 AMG racecars. Formula 1 star Vitantonio Liuzzi, eager to finally rebound after the tough fortunes suffered at Imola, will be partnered again by Max Mugelli. Team Romeo Ferraris will also be lining-up under the German manufacturer's camp with Andrea Larini and Alessandro Garofano.

The Audi Racing drivers will be back on their highly-performing RS5 racecars after the German-powered V8 racers dominated at Imola. Swedish Johan Kristoffersson will be entering Donington with the lead in standings, backed by a spectacular overall performance so far. In the meantime, Gianni Morbidelli is eager to be back in contention after the tough day he had on the Italian racetrack, while young German Thomas Schoeffler will battling with his team-mate for the Rookie competition. Their ultimate goal will be to win the "ROOKIE OF THE YEAR" competition, awarding a 100.000€ bonus for the 2013 SUPERSTARS SERIES.

The colors of Team BMW Dinamic will be defended by 2010 SUPERSTARS Champion Thomas Biagi, who's currently standing second in the championship, just two points off Kristoffersson. His team-mates Stefano Gabellini will also be joined by the W&D Racing Team duo of Walter and Paolo Meloni.

The British round of the series will also welcome the two Ferlito Motors Jaguars, one for Como-based Max Pigoli, who won Race 1 at Monza, and one for Indonesian driver Ananda Mikola, taking the wheel of the team's second XFR. The Chevrolet brand will also be part of the SUPERSTARS roster at Donington Park. While still fielding Francesco Sini, who scored a podium finish in round 1, Solaris Motorsport will become a 2-car operation by lining-up with a yet-to-be-named driver.

The SUPERSTARS show won't be limited to the series' exciting track action. The PADDOCK SHOW arena, a meeting point between fans and drivers, won't be the only highlight of the weekend as the championship will be paired by many support series. The live coverage plan will  include 66 countries - the British fans will be able to enjoy the two races on MotorsTV. Race 1 will be broadcasted live from 10:05 AM BST, followed by Race 2 at 15:05 PM.
