Gearlink Kawasaki have a busy couple of weeks ahead

Hudson Gains Strong Results at Doni - Gearlink to NorthWest 200 -

Gearlink Kawasaki have a busy couple of weeks ahead of them and it started this weekend with two races in the National Superstock 600 Championship at Donington Park. The Championship was allocated two races to run alongside the World Superbike series that came to Donington Park this weekend. The newest member of the Gearlink Kawasaki team, Scott Hudson, scored his two best results of the season at Donington Park having never raced at the track before. Scott gained a Championship point in the first race on Saturday finishing in 15th place and went miles better in race two showing his true colours and gained a fantastic 8th place.

Scott - "It's a great feeling to finally get in the points and to do so well in race two was even better. I've had a rocky start to the year and I've had a few crashes which knocked my confidence a little. I have been going to tracks that I've never been to in my life so not only am I having to learn everywhere I go but I also have to learn how to race a bike there. I'd never been to Donington before and I just seemed to click, I'm really pleased and would like to thank the entire Gearlink Kawasaki team plus all my personal sponsors who have helped me to be here."

Once the team packed up from Donington they will make their first appearance this year at the North West International, the Gearlink Kawasaki team will head to Ireland for first practice on Tuesday. They have picked two very good riders to fly the Gearlink Kawasaki flag, the first being Dan Cooper. Cooper, who has become one of the fastest Newcomers at the Isle of Man TT, he will make his debut appearance at the North West 200 this year and will be hoping for some good results. He will be joined for the week day practices and race day by experienced road racer Mark Buckley. The Scotsman is eager to get started with Gearlink Kawasaki and the team is looking forward to their first ever major road racing event. The Gearlink Kawasaki team will have practice on Tuesday and Thursday and will race on Saturday.

On a down side the Gearlink Kawasaki team are on the hunt for a second British Supersport rider after David Jones decided that they are to part company. They have parted on good terms but the team is looking for a new British Supersport rider, the rider would need to bring funding to the team, please contact Gearlink@aol.com for more details or e-mail me carly.rathmell@btinternet.com for a direct contact number for Michael.

Team Manager Michael de Bidaph - "Firstly we are really pleased with the results that Scott has achieved this weekend at Donington Park, he had a few crashes prior to this so it's good to see that he has managed to come here put all that behind him and go out and score points in both Stock 600 races. We are really happy that he has managed to do this at such an early stage in the season, hopefully this new found confidence will continue over the remaining rounds of the year.

Regarding the North West 200, we are extremely happy that we, as a team, have been invited to this prestigious event. We have two very capable riders for this event and we know we have good bikes, we can't wait to get there and see what we can do. We are not expecting anything and just want to see how we get on as this is a new project for us. Dan and Mark have both proved they are good road racers and we are happy to learn, take advice and hopefully have a strong week there.

Regarding David Jones, we are sorry to lose him from the team. David decided it was for the better that he leaves the team now as things were not working out for him and he was struggling to get any good results with us. We wish him luck for the future and we hope that we will be able to find a replacement for him before Snetterton in a few weeks time. If anyone is interested in this then please get in touch."
