Test session in Le Castellet for the Ferrari 458 GT2 supercar of the aabar Abu Dhabi Villorba racing with Ferrari Team

At the French circuit intense work and practice with different configurations for the drivers Montermini and Lopez behind the wheel of the supercar from Maranello

Treviso (Italy), May 20, 2012. Intense day of testing on May 18 at the “Paul Ricard” circuit in Le Castellet for the aabar Abu Dhabi Villorba racing with Ferrari Team. The Italian squad did many laps with different configurations with both race drivers behind the wheel of the Ferrari 458 GT2, in preparation for the next rounds of the 2012 International GT Open.

The Italian-Argentine crew had to cope with wet conditions in the morning, whereas in the afternoon the test could be accomplished on dry setups. Montermini-Lopez ran many stints of 15 laps each on heavy fuel, simulating race conditions and also focusing on the mechanics of the supercar from Maranello. The test session was particularly useful for Lopez, as the young Argentine was able to familiarize with a circuit he never raced on before. Montermini was very satisfied with the test as he - together with his colleague and the team - also could work on already gathered data with regard of the GT Open round scheduled for July 22 at the “Paul Ricard” itself.

"We had some good feedback on our set-up", team principal Raimondo Amadio said, "one more day on track makes it possible to refine many details inside a team and in a series such as the International GT Open this can make the difference. We are now focusing on the Nürburgring, scheduled for next weekend. We want to redeem the difficult start in Portimao at all costs.”
