Indonesian Indoprix series

The second round of the Indonesian Indoprix series at Kenjeran circuit in Surabaya at the weekend saw a strong turn out of riders and competition in the IP 110cc and IP 125cc classes.

In the smaller 'underbone' category, Suzuki AHRS Racing's Harlan Fadhillah improved on his Saturday qualifying position of 14th to race through into the top 10 and finish a creditable and hard-earned seventh position at the flag. In race two, he had less-than perfect start but came through to 10th despite suffering with a problematic valve spring that saw him down on power.

Along with Fadhillah, both Suzuki CHIA Felix team riders Ahmad Kohar and Andy Farhat were using new frames on their machines which sported Yoshimura rear sections and offered improved handling characteristics.

In the 125cc class Fadhillah was unlucky to be forced out of the 18 lap race due a problem with his gear shifter and Farhat too was ruled out of a top position after being involved in an eight-rider crash on lap two. Unfortunately a problem with the engine ruled Fadhillah out of race two and Farhat was unlucky to crash from a strong seventh position on the 11th lap.

In the series standings Fadhillah currently holds eighth in the IP 110cc class, but both riders have yet to score in the 125cc class, but  are hoping for a turnaround in luck at the next round on July 1st in Sentul.
