Valsecchi, Palmer and Gonzalez penalised after feature race

Time and grid penalties for race incidents

Davide Valsecchi, Jolyon Palmer and Rodolfo Gonzalez have all received penalties from the race stewards as a result of incidents which occurred in yesterday afternoon's feature race event in Valencia.The Italian has had 20 seconds added to his time after the stewards judged him to have overtaken the safety car during the second of the three safety car periods. Valsecchi, who finished 8th on the road, will now be classified 18th.The Briton has been handed a ten place grid position for thismorning's sprint race after being judged to have caused an avoidable accident when he collided with Fabrizio Crestani: the Italian was pitched into a roll, and both drivers were out on the spot.The Venezuelan was also handed a ten place grid position for the event after being judged to have caused a collision with Giancarlo Serenelli which saw his countryman spin at the chicane prompting the third Safety Car period.As a result of these penalties, James Calado is promoted to 8th place and will now start from pole position , while Stefano Coletti moves up to 9th position in the classifications, one ahead of Simon Trummer in 10th place.
