Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium), June 24, 2012. A weekend of contrasts for the aabar Abu Dhabi Villorba racing with Ferrari Team at Spa in the third round of the 2012 International GT Open. In race 1 yesterday, the race drivers Andrea Montermini and Juan Manuel Lopez clinched a crucial third place after a great comeback behind the wheel of the powerful Ferrari 458 of Super GT class. Today, however, the fast Italian driver and the young Argentine could not finish race-2 by points, reaching the ninth position in their category during the heavy rain on the Belgian track of the whole competition. In the opening laps the crew of aabar Abu Dhabi Villorba was forced to enter the pits because of a sudden oversteer, losing a lot of time. This was just before the mandatory driver-change. In the second half of the race Montermini and the powerful GT from Maranello recovered several positions but it was not enough to reach the top eight.

"Yesterday went very well - said Raimondo Amadio, Team Principal - while today the comeback has not been possible and we did not score any point. Even one would have been significant considering the weather conditions and a difficult first half of the race. However the whole team knows well that in each round there will be fighting. We have to prove our usual determination. It will be harder and harder but we will get to work immediately to return to the top since the next round at Brands Hatch.”
