AUDI DRIVERS DOMINATE RACE 1 AT SPA FRANCORCHAMPS

Gianni Morbidelli cruised to a dominating victory in the first race of the SUPERSTARS INTERNATIONAL SERIES weekend at Spa-Francorchamps. The Italian racer, fielded by Audi Sport Italia aboard an Audi RS5, held off a late charge by team-mate Johan Kristoffersson to score his third win of the season. Driving a Mercedes C63 AMG for CAAL Racing, Vitantonio Liuzzi ended up with a positive podium finish with some tough conditions for two-wheel-drive cars and retained a 4-point lead in standings. While he had his shoulders covered by team-mate Luigi Ferrara, another Former Formula 1 man scored 5th, as Mika Salo ended up not too far behind them with the Swiss Team Maserati Quattroporte. It's been a tough day for BMW. The Bavarian-manufactured cars rounded out the top-10 with Stefano Gabellini and championship runner Thomas Biagi, who suffered from an early spin.
