Rutter Aiming for Eighth Macau GP Win

Vastly experienced rider Michael Rutter has headed out to China this week for the forthcoming Macau GP, with the aim of winning his eighth race at the stunning road circuit. Michael will be riding for Robin Crofts' Jezac SMT Racing team on board a Honda.  After a difficult season in the British Superbike Championship, the rider from the West Midlands is looking forward to racing at one of his favourite circuits in the World, where he has enjoyed much success in the past.

Rutter took a record breaking seventh win last year after holding six equal wins with the hugely talented Ron Haslam since 2005.  After becoming somewhat of a specialist around the 6.2km circuit he will be hoping to stay in the record books this year.

Michael will continue with the loyal support of his sponsors Bathams and R&B (TUFTAC) and he welcomes on board for Macau new sponsors Monster Energy and Datatag.  He is looking forward to representing all his sponsors (listed below) and will be looking to do a good job for them at the Chinese circuit.

Practice starts in Macau on Thursday 15th November, with the bikes out on track at 15:50 Macau time (07:50 UK time) with the 15 lap race being staged on Saturday the 17thNovember at 15.30 Macau time (07:30 UK time).  Michael will run the number one after the win last year and his team-mate for this year will be none other than 19 times Isle of Man TT winner John McGuinness, McGuinness will run number two.

Michael is excited about returning to the circuit for the 18th time commenting, "Macau is always a race I really look forward to throughout the year.  I am really happy to be racing with the Jezac SMT Racing team, it's great to get back on a Honda and I hope I'll be able to achieve a good result for Robin and his team. It's good to have a team-mate like McGuinness, we get on really well and go back a long way so it will be good banter and I'm sure good racing. I'm happy to have the support again from my personal sponsors Bathams and R&B (TUFTAC) and to welcome Monster Energy and Datatag on board. You never know what will happen over there but I am really looking forward to getting back out there and getting a good result, the competition as always is strong and it won't be easy but I'm eager to get there now and get racing!"
