Hill enters WWRS R.A.C. Rally Championship

Richard Hill has confirmed plans to contest selected rounds of the West Wales Rally Spares R.A.C. Rally Championship this season, starting with the Tour of Hamsterley on 28 April.Hill and co-driver Pat Cooper will campaign Hills Ford Escort Mk1 in a range of events over the balance of the season despite a frustrating retirement on the Mid Wales Stages due to a split oil cooler.Ill try and do as many events as possible, said Hill, who enjoyed considerable success in four-wheel drive machinery before switching to historic rallying. However, he admits that his plans for the season will be governed by his fortune on each event. At the moment, if I didnt have bad luck, Id have no luck at all, said the Derbyshire driver. When all is going well, Hill is one of the quickest drivers in the historic arena and his RH Motors entered Escort Mk1 should be a very strong contender for victory in Category 2 in Hamsterley.Hill also reports that he currently has an Escort Mk2 in build to historic specification, and hopes to bring that car out in 2014.
