Two drivers made their racing debuts in the opening rounds of the Michelin Porsche Club Championship at Croft over the weekend (17/18 April).
Ragdan El-Akabi, elder brother of Radical front-runner Ziad, had his first race having only previously taken part in track days. The London-based Iraqi has been having one-to-one coaching from former Porsche champion John Williams and managed a couple of solid finishes at Croft despite a hefty off in testing on Friday in the ex-Chris Strakosch Carrera.
Racing newcomer Lee Birkett also made his debut at Croft, racing the ex-David Rothwell 2003 championship winning 911SC. The Macclesfield racer is running alongside Rod Carman and Adam Egar with ABG Motorsport for his first season of racing.
Meanwhile, making a welcome return to the Club Championship was Mark Lillington in the ex-Tony Brown Porsche 968CS. The former 924 racer has acquired the 2003 race winning car from Brown, and claimed eighth place in the second Porsche Club Championship round at Croft despite starting from the back of the grid.
