Gosia Rdest returns to contest F4 Winter Championship finale

Polish girl racer Gosia Rdest has confirmed she will participate in the BRDC F4 Winter Championship finale at Brands Hatch this weekend (23-24 November).

Making her racing debut in the UK in 2013, Rdest vastly improved during the season and her performances throughout the series were rewarded by winning the Yoozoom ‘Who Zooms’ Award for the most amount of overtakes during the season, gaining a total of 72 places compared to her grid positions throughout the campaign.

Having originally planned to compete in the full Winter Championship, Gosia was nominated to take part in the 2013 Volkswagen Motorsport Scirocco R-Cup Evaluation Day in association with the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission which was being held in Germany, forcing her to skip Snetterton. Gosia successfully made it through to the final and awaits the decision of the judges to announce the overall winner.

Now with her focus returning to F4, Douglas Motorsport Team Principal Wayne Douglas is looking forward to welcoming Gosia back for the final weekend of the year. “Gosia has been great to work with all year" he commented. "She’s come on really well over the season and I’m looking forward to having her out for Brands. It was a shame she couldn’t make it to Snetterton but the opportunity with Volkswagen was fantastic for her.”

Rdest enthused: "I have really enjoyed racing here in Britain and in the Formula 4 Championship, it’s a great championship and at a really high level. The competition is so close as you can see from the amount of winners this year, as well as those who have finished on the podium. It’s a great championship and I can’t wait to be back!"
