Ok - not all of us have the connections with the organisers nor the big dog car which will be accepted for an entry in the Mille Miglia - but that that does not stop you attending the event as a spectator and enjoying a bit of "La Dolce Vita."
Racecar client Debbie Stott runs Grand Classic Tours - which organise a Tour to follow the event - booking closes this Monday - 27th January - so get your skates on if you want join the event.
Also we have a customer who rents a stunning Villa in the area of the event - Villa in Chianti - if you want to do follow the event at your own pace - links to both sites at the bottom of the press release below.
Mille Miglia Tour 2014 - PR:
Mille Miglia, the very words roll off the tongue and bring visions of sleek sports cars driven at fantastic speeds through small villages and along country roads to the delight of all who gather to watch. Crowds, seemingly oblivious of any danger, watching the true heirs of the great city-to-city races which were run at the beginning of the 20th Century. It's estimated that over five million men, women and children lined the route every year the race was run, come rain or shine.
In 2014, as always, 'Mille Miglia' has planned the race through the magical scenery of Italian territory, going from Brescia to Rome and back again. All the beautiful elements of this sport and what surrounds it will be combined with the history, nature and art of this beautiful country.Join Grand Classic Tours on a luxury journey to visit this, the quintessential race: one thousand miles, the ultimate motor sport event held on public roads. Our tour to this legendary event is at a relaxed pace, with overnight stops chosen for their charm, spectacular views and fine cuisine. For 11 nights and 12 days, you will drive some of the most remarkable roads in Europe, stay in some superb hotels, marvel at the stunning scenery and sample the incredible hospitality, cuisine and wines which France, Switzerland and Italy have to offer.
