Tough Silverstone weekend for David Allingham and INcompetition Racing Yamaha

It was a tough weekend for David Allingham on the INcompetition Racing Yamaha at round eleven of the Motorpoint British Supersport Championship at Silverstone Circuit. The young Irishman crashed out heavily on Saturday and finished 11th in the Evo Championship in the main race on Sunday.

It was a hard weekend for the team with mixed weather conditions, they worked hard to try and find a good set up for David on Friday but the rain came heavily on Saturday morning which put qualifying into disarray. It was a difficult session and he ended up in 24th on the grid for race one. He was riding well and was 10th in the Evo class after lap one, he soon started making progress and settling into the race pushing his way through to seventh Evo rider before suffering a fast crash on lap seven.

The team worked hard through the night to repair his severally damaged Yamaha but they were able to get everything ready for the race the next day. They also made several alterations to help him improve on Sunday, he started from a strong 16th place on the grid for the 12-lap race. Sadly he made a few mistakes during the race and ended up as 11th Evo rider, the team will now move forwards to the final round at Brands Hatch in two weeks' time, he is now lying sixth in the overall Evo Championship standings.

David Allingham - "I'm really not happy with this weekend at all, I came to Silverstone feeling confident and ready. I struggled to find the right set-up during the practice sessions and I was having problems learning the track, it just didn't seem to click. I was going ok in the first race until I had a fast crash which really dented my confidence.

I was a little nervous about the second race and I got a good start but it all seemed to go wrong after that, I couldn't get comfortable on the bike and settle down into a rhythm and I just wasn't able to perform, the harder I was trying to ride the slower I was getting.

I must say a huge thank you to all the team and everyone who has been supporting me this season, especially Adrian and Ruairi, they worked all hours on Saturday night to ensure I got back out on the grid on Sunday, I couldn't do this without them and I really want to repay them for their work with some results."
