Miguel Molina secures last pole of DTM season at Hockenheim

Brilliant sunshine accompanied Saturday’s qualifying for the final DTM round of the season at Hockenheim. Spectators were treated to more enthralling motorsport in the hunt for top times on the 4.574-kilometre circuit. And as always, the pilots could rely on the standard Ventus Race tyre of the exclusive DTM partner Hankook.

The prime slick model Ventus Race of the premium manufacturer, which runs its 40th DTM race on Sunday, gave an outstanding overall performance in the fast corners and slow passages of the high-speed track. And the structure of the Ventus Race convincingly withstood the hammering from the kerbs taken at high speed.

Miguel Molina secured the last pole position of the season at Hockenheim. In the third and final qualifying segment, the Audi pilot turned the fastest lap in 1:33.316 minutes and takes up the last DTM race of the season from the very front grid spot. His brand colleague Mattias Ekström concluded the qualifying on second just 16-thousandths of a second behind Molina, putting him in an excellent position to defend his second overall rank in the standings.
