PetroBall Racing confirm di Mauro and Bortoleto for BRDC F4

PetroBall Racing have confirmed that Brazilians Gaetano di Mauro and Enzo Bortoleto will remain with the team for the full 2015 BRDC F4 season.

Di Mauro and the team joined the BRDC F4 Championship in 2014, and immediately established themselves as regular top-10 contenders. Breakthrough results came in August, with a podium finish at Silverstone and then a first pole position and win at Brands Hatch.

Both di Mauro and Bortoleto participated in the recent Winter Championship, with 17-year-old di Mauro pushing eventual champion Will Palmer all the way with two wins and five further podiums, while 16-year-old Bortoleto recorded a best result of fourth, less than a second away from a podium position.

Di Mauro commented: “It’s been a good year for me and I learned a lot and the team have supported me all season. We moved on and had a very successful Winter Championship and I was really happy to take second place. We will move forward for next year and I expect to be fighting for the title, but I expect it to be very close again.”

Bortoleto said: “I learned a lot in the Winter Championship and it is great to drive alongside Gaetano in the team, I’m really looking forward to next year. In F4 you get a lot of races in the weekend and the car is good to work with. It’s a great championship with very strong media support, and I think I can aim for podiums and maybe even race wins.”

PetroBall Team Principal José Roberto Sabathe commented: “We have really enjoyed our first season in the BRDC F4 Championship, it was just as competitive as we expected and I know that next year will be very strong too. I’m very pleased that we can confirm our two drivers so early, and with Gaetano we expect to have a very strong challenge for the title. With Enzo we hope that with our experience and with Gaetano’s help, he can push for podium finishes and wins.”
