Leg 2 of Desert Baja Israel consisted of two Special Stages with start and also finish in Ashalim.

The beauty of Israel’s desert is unique and it offers profound challenges to the teams featuring all kinds of different terrains.

But it can also cause delays, since, on the third racing day, several cars seemed to struggle making it to the finish line on time, due to technical issues or wrong decisions during navigation. However, most of the teams managed to repair their vehicles on-site and finished their race, safely returning to the service park. 

Despite a crash on SS1, Ziv Karmi from Israel not only managed to quickly recover the lost ground but also achieved the top performance, being almost 3 minutes faster than the current overall leaders Hornet Israel. The SSV team replied on SS3 with their 2nd victory in 3 Special Stages.

After the race, the pilots headed to the bivouac at Mitzpe Ramon, from where they will continue their efforts for the podium glory on the final day of the 2019 Desert Baja Israel!
