New Sponsor For This MINI Challenge Townsville "Caper"
Round Three of the 2009 MINI Challenge Series will be 'delivered by Pizza Capers.' The exciting new sponsorship deal was announced today with only two more sleeps until the blast off for the much anticipated Townsville Dunlop 400, in an arrangement that sees the progressive Pizza chain secure naming rights to the MINI Challenge action for the weekend.
"We're thrilled that Pizza Capers has come on board for Townsville," says Raf Toda - Director of Toleman Motorsport (the category rights owners of MINI Challenge Australia) "we like to think there are a number of reasons why this sponsorship makes sense. To begin with, Pizza Capers have a reputation for delivering a hot, fresh product and so do we!" Pizza Capers Marketing Manager Adrian Burton concurs. "Pizza Capers are a gourmet product at the upper end of the pizza market, and Mini are at the premium end of small car market, so the synergies between the two products are spot on. We are a company that is growing nationally and very quickly, just like the popularity of the Mini Challenge Series, plus it receives fantastic television coverage around Australia on Network 7."
Burton further believes that the Townsville event is a perfect launch pad for the new synergy with MINI Challenge. "Pizza Capers are currently in South East QLD, plus NSW, South Australia and Victoria, and very soon will be expanding into the North QLD Market including Townsville, Mackay and Cairns, so this will be a great introduction to our brand."
There is a distinct point of difference in a Pizza Capers product compared to that of industry rivals. Pizza Capers places an unrelenting focus on quality and innovation. They constantly have new products being created and brought to the market continuously, with healthiness, freshness, variety, taste and quality at the forefront of their product development. Ingredients such as lower fat mozzarella cheese, a low oil dough recipe, butcher fresh lean meats, premium Tasmanian Camembert and quality seafood are examples of this.
MINI Challenge too has a growing reputation worldwide as an exciting, fresh, fun new product that offers the consumer something entirely different.
The first Pizza Capers store was opened in Kenmore in 1996, with the vision of supplying the market with high quality, gourmet pizzas, previously unavailable in Brisbane. The 2nd store was opened in 1997 at Toowong. In 2002 Chermside and Jindalee stores opened. In 2003 Clayfield, Kallangur & Annerley stores joined the group. 2005 saw the opening of Camp Hill, Arana Hill and Chelmer stores. It's a fact - there are 59 stores currently, with 82 by Christmas and 100 expected by mid 2010.
"Pizza Capers" is the third exciting new brand to be associated with MINI Challenge Australia in as many rounds of the 2009 Series, with "The Boat That Rocked" and "Baskin Robbins Ice-cream" also playing pivotal roles in the on-track action so far. "MINI Challenge is an exciting, fun Motorsport series and it's attractive to a wide range of companies, products and services. We're excited about the viability and marketability of MINI Challenge on a number of levels," says Toda, "folks like Pizza Capers coming on board for Townsville strengthens our belief in what we have to offer."
This weekend marks the third round of the second year of MINI Challenge Australia and also marks the 50th anniversary of the MINI brand on Australian roads!
