Jack Daniel's has extended its sponsorship of Kelly Racing, the V8 Supercars team, while the Townsville round of the series will be named after Armor All for the next two years.
The team, just one year old, features brothers Todd and Rick Kelly, while Jason Bargwanna has been added to the line-up for 2010. "The relationship that we’ve built with Jack Daniel's has been awesome," said Todd Kelly. "To have a sponsor that is so involved with the team and is not just a sponsor, but a friend, is great for us. Having Jack Daniel’s confirmed is fantastic. It gives us real security and stability and that's incredibly important when you are building a team. We've got a long way to go, but this is certainly a massive step towards getting there."
Rick Kelly, the series champion in 2006, added: "To have Jack Daniel’s show this level of support and commitment following our first year is simply awesome. We are truly lucky to have Jack Daniel's onboard as well as lots of other great sponsors, which also highlights the job that the team has done so far. To be only one year old and to already be strengthening our sponsorship portfolio is something that makes every single person within our team very proud."
•V8 Supercars to be marketed by IMG outside AustraliaMeanwhile, Armor All will sponsor the Townsville round of the series, for which it is also official car care product. The inaugural Townsville 400 attracted an attendance of 168,057 while bringing a reported economic benefit of around AUS$20 million to the far north Queensland region and winning the 2009 V8 Supercars Event of the Year.
"Armor All is very excited to extend its sponsorship of the V8 Supercars Australia until 2011, which will see our great partnership with V8 Supercars continue," said Armor All's Paul Blair. "After coming on board in 2006, we have enjoyed four seasons in the sport. V8 Supercars has proven to be a great way to market our brand, and we are looking forward to the increased Armor All involvement in our fifth and sixth season in the Championship Series.
"Now, we have taken yet another step to increase our presence in the market by supporting one of the greatest sporting events in Australia – the Armor All Townsville 400. After such a successful event in 2009, lending our name to the event was an opportunity not to be missed."
