The popular success of the Le Mans 24 Hours knows no limits! The Facebook page – ACO Official 24 Heures du Mans – launched a few months ago confirms it day after day. This week the 50 000-fans barrier will be broken, and the 50 000th fan will be given a track baptism on the Le Mans 24-Hours circuit, permanent access to the 2011 paddock, a Racing 2011 outfit , total value over 2 000 euros!The ACO has decided to roll out the red carpet to thank all the enthusiasts who have contributed to the popularity of its Facebook page on the site lemans.org.
Several times a day they are updated on the latest news and the preparations for the Le Mans 24 Hours, ACO decisions, innovations, driving school, what’s happening on the club scene and in the boutiques, as well as the ever-expanding impact of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup.
Breaking the 50 000-supporters barrier only a few days before the start of the 79th Le Mans 24 Hours is a propitious symbol! The Automobile Club de l’Ouest is determined to thank the Facebook fans by giving exceptional prizes to the 50 000th member.
The 50 000th person who puts his/her name on the ACO Official 24 Heures du Mans Facebook page – whose name will be designated under the control of a bailiff, M. Gérard Degand, Le Mans bailiff – will enjoy an exceptional track baptism on the Le Mans 24 Hours circuit as passenger on board a Pescarolo prototype made available by Le Mans Driver, the Le Mans circuit driving school.
This lap (worth 1400 euros) of a unique track will take place on Thursday 9th June 2011 at 18h30, 30 minutes before the start of qualifying for the 2011 Le Mans 24 hours.
In addition, this lucky 50 000th fan will be given a pit walk pass (470 euros), free access to the teams’ paddock and pit lane during the Le Mans week from 13h00-15h00 in practice and 12h45-13h45 on Saturday 11th June, plus a place in the grandstands enclosure (65 euros). He/she will be dressed in the colours of the 2011 Le Mans 24 Hours with a racing outfit consisting of a T-shirt and cap (74 euros).
This will enable the winner to experience an exceptional 79th Le Mans 24 Hours on 11th-12th June.
With 50 000 fans for the Le Mans 24 Hours, 12 360 enthusiasts for the Le Mans 24 Hours for Motorbikes (24th-25th September this year), almost 6 000 followers on Twitter, the community of endurance lovers of the Le Mans spirit is more dynamic than ever.
