An opportunity, 2013 Rally of North Wales

Friday 5 to Sunday 7 April - ‏the dates confirmed in the next few weeks.

There is now an opportunity for a new title sponsor to benefit from naming rights to Rally North Wales (RNW), opening round of the 2013 Motor Sports Association (MSA) British Rally Championship (BRC).

Rally North Wales - sponsored by Bulldog Security Products for the past 17 years and prior to that by Audi Sport UK, Pace Petroleum, Castrol and the 'Express & Star' newspaper - is one the BRC's classic and well-established events.

The event currently benefits from its inclusion in the televised BRC, which has generated over 400 hours of programming to over 850 million homes * worldwide, including 38 hours on Sky Sports HD * to 10 million homes in the United Kingdom.

As a qualifying round of the BRC, additional assets include BRC's news mailings to 6,000 media, fans and teams; plus weekly news updates on the BRC and 'RNW' official websites (the BRC website average monthly page impressions are 163,000; monthly 'visits' average 59,000).

There is also coverage via all social media, including YouTube (169,000 views), while a global audience can access live times and results via the free mobile phone app on Apple and Android platforms.

An all-new 'British Rally Radio' service is scheduled to go on air in 2013, broadcasting to national and worldwide audiences via PCs and smart phones.

The Rally will be based in Welshpool, Powys - less than 90 minutes driving time from Birmingham, the West Midlands conurbation, Liverpool and Merseyside, and around 150 minutes from Cardiff and Bristol.

The event is traditionally a qualifying round of the MSA/Historic Rally Car Register (HRCR) British and Welsh Historic Championships, the MSA Welsh Stage Championship and several other significant regional championships. Overall entry level is approximately 180 cars.

The official Start and Finish allow free admission and the cars can be viewed on the public road sections and on some access roads into the forests which host the Special Stages. The event and championship organisers conservatively estimate that this event is experienced 'live' by upwards of 5,000 people.

Wolverhampton & South Staffordshire Car Club Ltd - run by volunteers for the benefit of local and national motorsport - would welcome any expressions of interest from potential sponsors.

Options include Title or individual special stage sponsorship, the provision of essential resources on a value-in-kind basis, or any combination of all three.

"We have enjoyed 17 fantastic years with Wolverhampton & South Staffordshire Car Club and this, their flagship event. They have delivered a substantial return on our sponsorship and our partnership has been instrumental in raising the profile of our business and products to national and international audiences," said Ian Jordan, Managing Director of Bulldog Security Products.

He added: "I have no hesitation in recommending this event to any new sponsors and we wish the organising team every success in attracting new backers."

The final word comes from Kevin Witton: "I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of our car club to thank everyone at Bulldog Security Products for their generous support over the last 17 years and to add a personal 'thank you' to Ian Jordan for the last five years, since I took on the role of Clerk of the Course and Rally Manager.  I wish them continued success in the future."
