HAT-TRICK FOR PREMA: FIRST WIN FOR GHIOTTO IN SPA RACE 2 AHEAD OF BONIFACIO AND FUOCO

First win for Luca Ghiotto and hat-trick for Prema in Race 2, at the end of a triumphant weekend for the Angelo Rosin team. On the Spa-Francorchamps circuit the young Italian (just a week ago he also seized his first Eurocup win) marked the third out of seven Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS rounds. Behind him his team-mates Bruno Bonifacio - who managed to win Race 1 scoring his second seasons victory - and Antonio Fuoco. An important podium for the latter that managed to keep the lead in the Championship standings 13 pts over the same Bonifacio. After yesterdays podium, the Swiss Kevin Joerg (Jenzer Motorsport) once more proved to be among the best in Belgium, reaching fourth. Behind him ended Hans Villemi (SMP Racing by Koiranen GP), retired in Saturdays race due to a puncture that caused him to went off the track while he was among the top drivers.

THE REPORT. Double formation lap for a problem on Ramsays car which halted on the grid, and Bonifacio soon on top from the pole chased by Fuoco once the green light were switched on. Third place for Orudzhev, who however, already in the first lap is passed by both Ghiotto and Silva. In the following lap Ghiotto slips by Fuoco too and takes second. With the top five all in a streamline, fight for second is amazing. Joerg overtakes Villemi at lap three, while Dalewski keeps line of the Estonian. One more lap and Silva and Orudzhev eliminate each other at Les Combes and simultaneously out are also Ramsay (who started from the pit) and Albogado. Right after that, at the Bus Stop, Ghiotto makes his move on Bonifacio who however kept the lead while Fuoco closes the gap. Still at Les Combes Ghiotto move is successful soon imposing his pace and gaining a consistent lead. De Narda, while duelling with Ghorpade (ninth), spuns. Joerg passes Villemi and reaches fourth while Siebert overtakes Dalewski at that stage sixth. For Prema is hat-trick time.

After yesterdays crash with Orudzhev, I just took what I deserved. - commented Ghiotto - I pushed to pass Bonifacio but once I was on the lead Ive tried to keep a regular pace.It was a very good weekend for me. - declared Bonifacio - Its a shame that today Ive soon lost a mirror which did not help at all while in the bagarre.
