FORMULA RENAULT 2.0 ALPS HALF WAY THROUGH THE SEASON: THIS WEEKEND IN MONZA ENGINES SWITCHED ON
Fourth out of seven double venues, this weekend (6th and 7th of July) for Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS. In Monza, the 2 liters single seaters reserved series is half way through the season once more with a top quality lineup. Three different winners and Prema rule: these the verdicts of the first three rounds. On the Northern Italian track though there will be many more who will go for the win. On top of the standing the is Antonio Fuoco, 17 y/o, with three wins so far (double in Imola and a win in Vallelunga Race 2). The Italian has a 13 points lead over his team mate Bruno Bonifacio, Brazilian, who managed to win on the same track near Rome in the opening round, and once more on the fast up and down hills of Spa-Francorchamps. On the Belgian track, still in Race 2, first win with the other Italian racing for the Angelo Rosin team Luca Ghiotto, third overall in the general standing.In Monza surprises are awaited. Spotlights on Tech1 Racing lining up along the young Canadian rookie Luke Chudleigh and the Russian Egor Orudzhev, the debuting 17 y/o Indonesian Philo Paz Patric Armand. A perfect trio for the Sarah and Simon Abadie team, currently second in the Team standing just ahead of the Finn Koiranen GP. The Afa Heikkinen team will serve a poker of drivers all racing for SMP Racing: the Polish Alex Bosak and the Estonian Hans Villemi, both at their second season in ALPS, and the other two Russians Semen Evstigneev and Nikita Zlobin.Regarding the other Italian teams and drivers, on the home track Daniele Cazzaniga (Viola Formula Racing) will do his best for sure. Definitely a good score so far for Dario Capitanio that, along with the Indian Parth Ghorpade will be once more on the grid with the BVM Racing colors. Constantly in the top-10 the Italian Kevin Gilardoni will try to further improve. Along with him, still with GSK Grand Prix, the Russian Dzhon Simonyan is confirmed. The local Pietro Peccenini, starting with TS Corse, will do his best to fight for top positions on the track that he perfectly knows.Full lineup for Euronova Racing, with the trio Javier Amado, Gregor Ramsay and Ukyo Sasahara. Same can be said for JD Motorsport, which will join Monza venue with Juan Branger and Jakub Dalewski, the latest second in Belgium. Focus on Arta Engineering as well already twice on podium with William Vermont. The French will not be in Monza but on behalf of him there will be the other Frenchmen Joffrey De Narda, Simon Gachet and Simon Tirman. Three cars for Austrian Interwetten.com brought on track by the Mexican Alejandro Abogado, the Portuguese Francisco Mora and the other Russian Konstantin Tereshchenko. Three cars also for Jenzer, with the Swiss Kevin Joerg, the Russian Denis Korneev and the Singaporian Andrew Tang.Both races, on the 25 plus a lap distance, taking place on Saturday at 17.45 and on Sunday at 14.40, will have live web coverage on www.renaultsportitalia.it. The two qualifying sessions will take place on Saturday starting from 9.40, while the three free practice sessions are scheduled on Friday (60 minutes each).
