Fittipaldi debuts in Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS

Pietro Fittipaldi involvement in Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS will start this weekend from Spa-Francorchamps. A well known name in Motorsport as the 17 y/o Brazilian born in Miami on the 25th May 1996, is the nephew of the legendary Emerson Fittipaldi, twice F1 World Champion (in 1972 and ’74, respectively with Lotus and McLaren) and twice winner of the 500 Miles of Indianapolis (1989 and 1993).

Pietro, who has some experience in the British F.Renault BARC and F4, will debut with MGR Motorsport, at his first appearance in Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS. The Mark Godwin led team will join all the remaining rounds and will be for sure one of the most important novelties in Belgium.

On the very fast up and down hill circuit of the Ardennes, Pietro Fittipaldi will try to be among the protagonists of the Fast Lane Promotion Series, where he takes over the relay of the Brazilians along with Bruno Bonifacio, who raced with Prema as a wild card in Imola, and Thiago Vivacqua (Fortec Motorsports).

Already with some records in karting and in stock cars, Pietro Fittipaldi tries to follow the footsteps of his grandfather, taking the challenge of the Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS where he will able to face extremely talented drivers and teams.

The Spa-Francorchamps venue will be the fourth of the season, and it will follow of just two weeks, the Red Bull Ring round where the 16 y/o Russian Matevos Isaakyan (JD Motorsport) scored a double. The leader is still Nyck de Vries, who proved to be the undisputed ruler of both the Imola and the Pau rounds on the Koiranen GP car.
