(SPEEDWAY 1 – WEDNESDAY PREVIEW)KING’S Lynn boss Rob Lyon is targeting a healthy haul of points from a hectic run of Elite League fixtures – starting tonight against Swindon at the Adrian Flux Arena.Lyon is back at the helm of the Stars after a recent holiday, and takes his team into back-to-back clashes with the Robins, as the return takes place at Blunsdon on Thursday.King’s Lynn will be at full-strength whilst Robins boss Alun Rossiter has named Chris Harris and Dakota North as guest replacements for injured heat-leaders Adrian Miedzinski and Troy Batchelor.Lyon said: “We start a busy spell starting with home and away clashes against Swindon and then we are against Belle Vue and Coventry.“Over that period we have a total of 14 league points up for grabs and we will be targeting the lion’s share of those points available to keep us at the top end of the table.”Rossiter said: “Whilst everybody can see we are under-strength, we can’t be going in feeling sorry for ourselves. We’ve got to try and make the best of a bad situation and be positive about everything.“We know they will be two tough meetings for us, but we need to stay focused and try and take some steps forward to get our season going.”In the National League, Cradley renew their rivalry with Eastbourne after a gap of almost 20-years when the sides race at Perry Barr. It’s the first time they have met in league racing since 1996 when the Eagles finished two places above the Heathens in the Premier League. The visitors are without two riders after crashes last Sunday, with Danny Warwick in hospital and Marc Owen ruled out as he cannot get his helmet on due to swelling. Darryl Ritchings guests for the Eagles, and they will also operate rider-replacement.Cradley skipper Max Clegg said: “Eastbourne look strong, but all our lads are up for it, we can’t wait for this meeting.“We have dropped silly points this season but hopefully we can all click on Wednesday night and do a job against Eastbourne.”Eagles chairman Martin Dugard said: “Of course it is a blow when you lose two riders through injury but we are all very confident and aiming for a win.”(SPEEDWAY 2)EASTBOURNE have confirmed Danny Warwick faces a spell on the sidelines after his crash at Arlington on Sunday.Warwick has been visited in hospital by club officials Martin and Connor Dugard, and was set for an operation on Tuesday having damaged a disc and broken his No.3 vertebrae. The Eagles are planning to hold a collection for Warwick and an online ‘Danny Warwick Health Fund’ has also been set up to which fans can contribute.(SPEEDWAY 3)SPEEDWAY Best Pairs organisers One Sport have confirmed Great Britain will be represented in the final round of the 2015 series on May 9.The event takes place at Danish venue Esbjerg with Tai Woffinden and Craig Cook expected to line-up for GB, who replace the USA as no rider is available to join Greg Hancock due to league racing commitments. The organisers stated: “It’s a breakthrough which we hope will have a positive influence on our relationship with the authorities of British Speedway.“A big thanks to the ACU and Alun Rossiter, and also the riders who have done much to make it possible for Great Britain to be represented in front of the Danish fans.“For British fans this is the first opportunity to watch their riders in action since the beginning of the Speedway Best Pairs series’ existence. That’s great news for all of us.”(FIXTURES)WEDNESDAY APRIL 22:ELITE LEAGUE: King’s Lynn v Swindon 7.30CITY GEARBOXES NATIONAL LEAGUE: Cradley v Eastbourne 7.30THURSDAY APRIL 23:ELITE LEAGUE: Swindon v King’s Lynn 7.30PREMIER LEAGUE: Redcar v Peterborough 7.30, Sheffield v Somerset 7.30LEAGUE CUP: Ipswich v Rye House 7.30FRIDAY APRIL 24:ELITE LEAGUE: Coventry v Belle Vue 7.30, Lakeside v Wolverhampton 8pmLEAGUE CUP: Edinburgh v Glasgow 7.30, Plymouth v Ipswich 7.15, Scunthorpe v Redcar 7.30, Somerset v Peterborough 7.30SATURDAY APRIL 25:ELITE LEAGUE: Leicester v Lakeside 7.30PREMIER LEAGUE: Berwick v Sheffield 7pmLEAGUE CUP: Workington v Edinburgh 7pmSUNDAY APRIL 26:PREMIER LEAGUE: Peterborough v Rye House 5pmLEAGUE CUP: Newcastle v Redcar 6.30CITY GEARBOXES NATIONAL LEAGUE: Buxton v Coventry 3pmNATIONAL TROPHY: Mildenhall v Rye House 3.30PEUGEOT OPEN: Glasgow 3pm
