The best in Speed Hill Climb action returns to the famous Worcestershire venue of Shelsley Walsh on the weekend of June 30th and July 1st.
On Saturday 30th the historic venue hosts the Reg Phillips Trophy with invited Championships, whilst on Sunday 1st it is the annual Shelsley Walsh Vintage Meeting in association with the VSCC (Vintage Sports Car Club).
The Vintage meeting as ever brings a huge variety of historic racing machinery and at the top of the list sit the two pre-war ERA’s of Mac Hulbert and Paul Richardson. With Hulbert the current holder of the pre-war hill record and following the glut of records at the June meeting can he lower his 33.71s time still further, or can Richardson match or better him?
In addition there are dramatic pre-war specials such as the ground-shaking 24 litre aero-engined Napier Bentley of Chris Williams and the even larger 27 litre Hispano engined Delage of Simon Williamson. Follow those up with the amazing Racing GN-JAP special of Richard Scaldwell and the famous Shelsley Special GN-Spider II of Martin Spencer for a rare sight of exotic machinery. Add to this a host of racing Lagondas, Austins, Rileys, Bentleys, Bugattis, Vintage Vauxhalls and many many more, and you have an unmissable day of historic racing action in Worcestershire’s beautiful Teme Valley.
Shelsley Walsh is AA signposted approximately 10 miles North West of Worcester. Admission is £12 on Saturday and £15 on Sunday and accompanied children under 16 go free. This includes parking, transfer to the paddock and seated trackside enclosures. Excellent catering and light refreshment facilites are available as are a range of souvenirs and regalia.
