Classic Endurance Racing back at Silverstone

CLASSIC ENDURANCE RACING is back AT Silverstone for the Fourth race of the 2011 season with 50 carsentered for a complete grid. After a brillant start at Navarra, Spa, during the new event by Peter Auto"Spa‐Classic" and Imola, CER is now back with the Le Mans Series on the British layout, where the classicshow is always much appreciated by the public.

UEndurance legends in all their gloryWith an eligibility period going from 1966 to 1979, CER welcomes the finest classic racing cars. After thesummer holidays, we will admire at Silverstone the former champion cars of the 24 Hours of Le Mans orthe World Sportscar Championship golden age of which Silverstone was a round from 1976. Ferrari 312PB, 512 BBLM, Ford GT40, BMW M1, Porsche 935, 911 RSR, Chevrolet Corvette… But also a crowd ofChevrons and Lolas, plus some very rare cars, such as the Sauber C5 – driven by Philippe Scemama – orRussell Büsst's Lola Chevron B31 HART… A French car also comes to challenge the British on their soil:Jean‐Marc Merlin with his Lola T280 ex‐Le Mans. All these cars, more than thirty years old, share anincredible competitivity level. The drivers, all searching for podiums, promise a breathtaking show.

On the entry list, a "brand new" motor‐racing legend will be on the starting grid with well known tandemKevin Wilkins and Mike Catlow. After four years on their superb Lola T296 in the British oil companycolours "Ultramar", they decide to join CER with a TOJ SC 302 in the Proto 2 category. This prototyperaced in the Sports Car World Championship in 1977 at Dijon, Monza, Castellet and also in the Interseriesin 1979.

On the classification side, we'll keep an eye on Sean McInerney’s performance, behind the wheel of hisBMW M1 in the GT 2 category (1975‐1979). The British driver is closely followed in the classification thisseason by the Ferrari 512 BBLM of M. John of B. Other categories also promise fierce battles: between theLolas of French drivers Michel Quiniou and Patrice Lafargue in Proto 2 (1972‐1979); between the threefirst Porsches 911 RSR in GT1 (1966‐1974) and between the ultra powerful Porsche 935 respectively at thehands of Austrian Michael Föveny/Stephan Roitmayer and English driver Peter Garrod in GT2 (1975‐1979).UNext race in Estoril at the end of the month!

The CER will finish the 2011 season with two races in a month! Estoril first at the end of September withLe Mans Series just before the big final on the Paul Ricard HTTT racetrack – South of France – nextOctober 7, 8 and 9, during Peter Auto's classic car meeting, the Dix Mille Tours. On this occasion, therewill be two Classic Endurance Racing races. Indeed, to be able to accept all entries, C.E.R will be split intotwo grids, each of them gathering more than 45 cars:
