Just love this ex-works R5 Turbo - amazingly original and the only genuine Calberson liveried car of the 3 made remaining.

The history of this car - the first R5 Turbo to be homologated in Group 4 - is amazing and the car has been exercised recently by it's previous owner on a couple of events.

You would need some balls to fling a £330k car on some stages - but although it reached about £65k above it's estimate - I reckon this was well bought.

Nearly £21m was raised at the auction - other noticeable signs of a "Bullish" market was Lamborghini (sorry!) Miura S at £668k and on a smaller scale nearly £35k for Mini Cooper 1071S.

The Alfa collection got some big results for the sexy TZ1 and GTA's - but also the most bizarre result - someone paid nearly £4k for an Alfa Romeo Arna!!If you cannot remember what this "car" is - it was a result of marriage between Alfa Romeo mechanicals in a Nissan Cherry (Pulsar) body.

Forget Miura S's at £668k - if you want to see evidence of heat in the "classics" market - somebody spending £4k for a Nissan Cherry with a 1.2 Alfasud motor is truly a sign of madness!
